About The Museum

The Meridian Museum of Art (MMA) is housed in the historic Old Carnegie Library building, which was constructed in 1912-13, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and as a Mississippi Landmark. The Museum seeks to promote and support the art, artists, and art programs of our area and region through art education, exhibitions, collections, collaborations with other organizations, special events, and community involvement. MMA programs are designed to further these goals and to make art accessible to everyone in the community. The Museum serves an audience from across the state and region, but primarily from Meridian and Lauderdale County and the surrounding counties: Kemper, Neshoba, Newton, Jasper, and Clarke (in MS), and Sumter and Choctaw (in AL).

After School Art Classes

To meet the growing demand for quality after school art instruction in our area, the Meridian Museum of Art is announcing the schedule for the 2020 – 2021 school year.  All of our classes will offer progressive, skill-based art lessons in a studio setting. Students will receive instruction one day a week at the museum from a highly qualified art instructor.

Classes will be offered for three age groups and are limited to ten students per class, with a minimum of six students! These unique twelve-week sessions will be offered in the fall and again in the spring, building skill levels in drawing, painting, and multi-media.

The registration fee per year is $10 and each twelve week session costs only $150, which includes all expenses for art materials used in class.
